Chapter 1

A Distress Call

Ben was enjoying his summer vacation, a simple- dare he say normal? Well he wouldnt say it out loud because his vacation just started almost two weeks ago, so he didnt want to jinx it.

Things were going nicely so far, he had a smoothie, he ditched his stalker, his seventeenth birthday just passed, the world wasnt in peril, and he had a smoothie! He was on his way to meet Gwen and his Grandpa at the park; and in his eyes nothing could go wrong.

Ben quickly arrived at the park, thrilled- well more or less hyper from the sugar-filled smoothie. The park was one those nature parks- the ones where you go camping or walk your dog- and it seemed no one came to this particular park much.

Ben found his family in their usual spot under a large Maple tree; the spot was about half a mile away from the trail in a small area with naturally less trees then the surrounding area. It was a great place for training and a great place to relax and the trio met up after a busy week.

Hey guys, sorry Im late. I kind of got distracted. Ben laughed weekly, inferring his smoothie.

Told you Grandpa, you know what I want for my birthday. Gwen smirked, as she looked over to her Grandfather.

Max chuckled slightly, Fine, fine, you win fare in square. He raised his hands in defeat.

Ben blinked multiple times, Did you to bet whether Id be late or not again?!

Yep, and Grandpa lost, again. He has to give the rest of the laptop money I need, before school starts! Gwen was brimming with unnecessary pride.

Yeah, yeah, I heard. You got into Aurora U, blah, blah, blah, dream college, blah, blah. But my letters havent come back yet! Ben crossed his arms and pouted, minding his smoothie. And I wasnt that late

Gwen gave a large, childish grin, Jealous? Her voice was slow and mocking.

The slight sugar rush from the smoothie and Gwens unnecessary childish behavior wasnt helping Bens temper out. His eye twitched and he opened his mouth to respond to his cousin. Before he could say anything Bens Omnitrix started to beep, or to be more accurate go crazy.

What the? Ben soon noticed that the noise seemed to echo, and Gwen pulled out her Plummers badge as well as Max and theirs were acting just as insane as his Omnitrix.

Grandpa, what is-Gwen tried to ask, but Max knew what she was going to ask and quickly cut her off.

Its a distress call, Gwen. Max informed her.
