Her Mom Looks Good in Black, Too
Spending all morning getting ready and looking, well, sexy, Carmelita packed up some equipment in a bag she carried on her shoulder and was heading out.
"I'm going to be shopping all day," she called to her mother. "I-In a bunch of different places. And I'll be very busy, so don't try to call or find me." There. That sounded convincing enough. She walked out the front door of the giant bird-themed skyscraper.
I'm coming, my love, she thought.
That was when she saw her daughter, Zoe, beating up that no-good son of Rodolfo's, Manny Rivera. She stood still and heard her daughter shouting something.
"…HOW DARE YOU SAY I GAVE IT TO YOU, YOU FUCKING, FUCKING PERVERT!" she screeched as she slammed his head into the concrete sidewalk.

"Excuse me?" Zoe asked.
The boy looked at her and smiled. "Well, sure. You were all over Frida yesterday. Am I right?" he asked the group. They all agreed with "yeahs" and slapped hands with one another.
Zoe stared at the group. It was official: Miracle City was going to hell in a handbasket.
The black-haired woman realized that Manny being unconscious meant he wouldn't be home, so that worked out just fine. However, she knew that the boy's grandfather always stayed at home, w
